Master Schedule Planner

Your responsibilities:  

  • Using the MRP system, translates the consolidated sales forecasts into a master production schedule / build schedule.  Summarize daily and weekly master schedules for released and firm planned orders and compare these to the production plan to ensure that the master schedule is within Sales and operations planning policy; 
  • Monitors daily schedule status and communicates scheduling problems or concerns to Management; 
  • Develop a working knowledge of the company’s products and processes to ensure optimal master schedule stability, order creation, rescheduling, load-leveling, etc; 
  • Analyze the demand and supply balance at the product family and master schedule levels, determining out-of-balance conditions, identifying alternatives, and recommending action for approval; 
  • Challenge current manufacturing strategies for all product lines to be sure the best and most customer-oriented strategy is being used. Look for ways to move the company to make-to-order manufacturing; 
  • Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order promising integrity; 
  • Inform management when demand cannot be met, and recommend alternatives on how the requested demand could still be satisfied; 
  • Assist management to resolve problems with late shipments, material shortages, customer schedule changes, and cancellations of customer orders; 
  • Develop and distribute various reports that indicate operating levels and potential production issues based on detailed and general capacity analyses. Establish key performance indicators of master plan accuracy and perform root cause analyses. Proposes and leads implementation of improved planning methods, tools, and reports; 
  • Communicate closely with purchasing on schedule changes to ensure proper supply chain alignment. Control and Manage MRP (Materials Resource Planning) exception messages on a daily basis. 

Your background: 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in the field Business Administration, Supply Chain management or operations management; 
  • Minimum 2 years experience planning and scheduling a manufacturing facility. Fluency and proficiency in the practical application of MRP logic, scheduling logic, order policies, capacity planning, input/output control, product structures, routings, and standards maintenance. Experience with SAP preferred; 
  • Knowledgeable in master scheduling, production planning and detailed scheduling, demand management, purchasing, and cost accounting techniques; 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; 
  • Extremely organized and Self-driven personality; 
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills; 
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills required with the ability to work well with all levels of employees and internal departments in a diverse environment; 
  • Experience and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and DMAIC methodology; 
  • Fluent Knowledge of English language – written and spoken; 
  • Yellow/Green belt certified will be advantage.
