Project Management Office Manager

Mission statement:

You as a Project Management Team Leader will be part of Hitachi Energy Transformers Business based in Sydney, Australia. You will be leading the team of project managers for successful execution of medium size to large and moderately complex Distribution and Power Transformers projects and ensuring that all related activities are performed in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety and environment requirements, financial targets as well as schedule commitments.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will be leading the team of Project Managers for successful execution of projects under assigned region or customer projects.

  • You will coach and Mentor the Project Managers and ensure their development plan is fulfilled per role qualifications requirements and career journey.

  • You will be ensuring that all project related activities are performed in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety and environment requirements, financial targets as well as schedule commitments. You will be building up strong relations with customers and managing customer satisfaction by on time execution of projects.

  • You will act as the First escalation point for customer and support the project team and resolving the cross-function roadblocks and collaboration with functions.

  • You will actively manage Project allocations and resource loading monitoring to achieve best outcomes.

  • You will be supervising project execution and performance management through project reviews with management and project managers to ensure contract fulfilment and approves any project deviations. You will take an active role in identify risks, negotiate and resolve escalated issues especially those raised by the customer and ensuring the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers.

  • You will take accountable for accurate monthly forecast for revenue, profitability, and collections, define and deliver on action plans to achieving them and leverage best practice learnings from other teams and support in deploying the learnings in other teams after alignment with LPG.

Your background:

  • You hold bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with strong technical background (project management qualifications are a plus).

  • Minimum 12 to 15 years of Proven experience in project management within the electrical industry needed.

  • Must have experience in project execution of Substation projects or similar projects related to Design, supply, installation of high voltage equipment.

  • Should possess strong leadership skills and ability to lead the team and convince stakeholders in the interest of the project.

  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver the projects with time, cost, and quality.

  • SAP or another ERP Platform knowledge is a must.

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in project deliverables.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines and excellent collaboration and work with cross functional & cross-cultural team.

  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks & challenges.

  • Strong communication skill.
