Within the High Voltage Products Business Unit (BU), the Technology Center (TC) Italy is responsible – as part of a global R&D organization – for the development and optimization of products such as Metal-Enclosed Circuit Breakers, Hybrid Switchgear, and Instrument Transformers.

As R&D Engineer, you will be part of TC Italy, located in Lodi. Reporting to the R&D Team Manager, you will focus on different types of Gas Insulated High Voltage Instrument Transformers, such as inductive current and voltage transformer, combined current and voltage transformer, Station Service Voltage Transformer. As part of a growing context, you will be responsible for design definition and project management of Instrument Transformer project related, including the introduction of innovative and eco-efficient solutions.

Your responsibilities

·        Contribute to international R&D projects performing design studies and design activities with the goal to develop new eco-efficient Instrument Transformers portfolio

·        Perform a variety of product development and data management assignments, in the frame of both R&D projects and product improvement initiatives.

·        Execute tasks and deliver solutions to meet project specifications on time, cost, and quality.

·        Monitor the quality performance of the products of own responsibility and demonstrate ability to identify design and/or process improvements. Drive the implementation of the resulting actions in either active products or new developments.

·        Build up own relevant professional network to support ongoing activities.

Your background

·        Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar,

·        Knowledge of CAD software and 3D modelling, with preference to PTC Creo or similar

·        Good knowledge of PLM systems, with preference to PTC Windchill or similar

·        Good documentation, presentation and communication skills, willingness to interact with cross-functional teams in an international working environment, strong proactive approach to multi-disciplinary problem solving

·        Fluent English, Italian is a plus

·        Experience in High Voltage Instrument Transformers design and testing: inductive current and voltage transformer, combined current and voltage transformer, capacitive voltage transformer is a plus
