The opportunity  

As an Experienced Thermal CFD Engineer - R&D, you will join Global Multi-Physics Simulation (GLOMUS) network team. You will be part of a group of key people with specific expertise in the fields of electrical, structural, acoustic, thermo-mechanic and fluid-dynamics analyses, simulation and testing. As part of our global R&D community, including Technology Centers and Research Centers worldwide, you will contribute to supporting all factories in the Product Group Transformers, Insulation and Components on innovative and challenging development projects. You will focus on developing new technologies and products, optimizing existing ones and supporting different engineering offices around the world  

How you will make an impact

  • You will be responsible for creating and improving analytical tools and finite element methodologies and automations for thermo-fluid dynamic analysis 

  • Be part of the design process and propose new ideas through concept design, prototyping and verification all the way to production. 

  • Support new product development projects focusing on thermal design and perform thermo-fluid dynamic simulations 

  • Drive sophisticated thermal solutions including excellent experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thermal casting processes, temperature rise test and understanding international standards. 

  • Provide timely and effective support to facilitate the transfer of technology and knowledge from GLOMUS to other technical centers 

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Matlab, Mathcad and Python are important for creating custom simulations and analyzing data 

  • You bring a high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn new technologies and simulation methodologies 

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team collaborate effectively to deliver high-quality results on time

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background  

  • Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or physics, with a strong foundation in thermodynamics and heat process 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermo-Mechanical Simulations  

  • Good understanding of Fluid-Structure Interaction theory and knowledge about material properties are desirable 

  • Knowledge of high voltage products would be a plus 

  • Advanced skills in numerical methods for thermodynamic simulations. Experience with software like ANSYS CFX/FLUENT, COMSOL and StarCCM+ is preferential 

  •  As you will be part of a global business, willingness to travel and fluency in written and spoken English is required.
