Software Developer – Optimization Tools

The opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Software Developer with a strong background in IT or Computer Science to work closely with our Optimization Engineering team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining custom software tools and digital platforms that support optimization initiatives across product design, manufacturing, and materials engineering. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enabling lead time reduction, material and weight savings, process efficiency, and chemical composition optimization through intelligent, data-driven solutions.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers to understand optimization goals related to lead time, material usage, design, process, labor, and chemical composition.

  • Design and develop software tools, scripts, and dashboards to automate workflows, simulate optimization scenarios, and visualize engineering data.

  • Continuously validate, refine, and streamline existing algorithms within the Optimization System by leveraging software development best practices, performance profiling, and feedback from engineering teams to ensure accuracy, scalability, and efficiency

  • Build and maintain digital platforms that integrate with CAD/CAE systems, PLM tools, and manufacturing databases to support real-time decision-making.

  • Evaluate the available tools, algorithms and provide recommendations for integration with company owned solutions in alignment with the solution architect

  • Implement algorithms and data models that enable predictive analysis, design optimization, and process control. Support the development of digital twins and simulation environments for testing design and process improvements virtually.

  • Ensure scalability, usability, and performance of developed tools, and provide documentation and training to engineering teams.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field, with 3 to 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, C # or JavaScript. Knowledge of .NET frameworks.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and simulation libraries.

  • Familiarity with CAD/CAE integration, APIs, and manufacturing systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate engineering requirements into software solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
