The Opportunity

We are seeking a Software Governance & Quality Specialist to define and drive initiatives to improve software quality in collaboration with the R&D product lines.

In this role, you will ensure that product quality specifications align with corporate and customer standards, while shaping QA/QC policies that support world‑class development practices. You will work independently with limited supervision, coach junior team members, and solve complex problems that impact multiple product lines.

This is a full‑time position based in Krakow, Poland, with the mission to ensure software quality throughout the entire development lifecycle – from requirements and design, through implementation, verification, and validation.

How You’ll Make Impact

  • Introduce, develop and promote best coding practices and principles, design and implementation patterns.

  • Drive improvements in software quality metrics development, implementation and reporting.

  • Drive initiatives to systematically analyze software defects and implement countermeasures to prevent recurrence.

  • Define minimum software quality requirements and update tool usage standards.

  • Establish standards for the software development life cycle across the product lines.

  • Support implementation of test automation and static analysis tools.

  • Lead source code and design reviews.

Additional Impact Areas

Risk mitigation: Proactively identify quality risks in early development phases to prevent costly late-stage defects.

Process leadership: Act as a key driver for continuous improvement in software development processes and quality culture.

Cross-functional collaboration: Bridge gaps between development, testing, and product management to ensure alignment on quality goals.

Innovation enablement: Scout and support adoption of modern tools and practices such as AI‑powered coding assistance, low-code/no-code platforms, DevSecOps, cloud-native development, and sustainable software engineering.

Your background

  • Solid grounding in software engineering or a closely related field, typically gained through higher education and substantial professional experience in complex software development environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead software quality improvement initiatives that influence multiple teams, including the definition of quality standards, coding practices, and lifecycle process requirements.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices including test automation, static code analysis, coding standards, design and implementation patterns, and metrics driven quality management.
  • Practical experience in introducing and promoting best practice tooling and methods across R&D teams, including the adoption of automation frameworks and improvements to tool usage standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct reviews, and to guide teams in systematic defect analysis and the implementation of effective countermeasures.
  • Experience coaching team members and supporting cross functional collaboration with development, test, and product teams.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, while contributing to complex problem solving and broader continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to represent quality requirements clearly and influence stakeholders across product lines.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with enthusiasm for modern engineering methodologies and the evolution of quality related processes, tools and metrics.
