Business Controller (Singapore)

Based in Petaling Jaya, the Business Controller will serve as a strategic financial partner to the Singapore Grid Automation leadership team. This role carries full P&L responsibility, bridging the gap between high-level financial strategy and day-to-day commercial execution. You will be instrumental in driving profitability through rigorous cost control, accurate forecasting, and proactive financial risk management.

How you’ll make an impact:

• You will provide decision support to management with fast and high-quality financial information (budget, forecast, actuals), keep costs under control and initiates adjustments as early as possible, identify opportunities of cost savings within the business and review and approve all financial elements of tenders submitted for risk review and comply with the company risk review policies and procedures.

• You will support the sales &  tender team  by reviewing and advising on financial/commercial aspects, participate in negotiations on contractual terms and conditions (clients, consortium,  subcontractors, suppliers), risk reviews, contract structuring and negotiations, tax issues, cash flow analysis, assignment conditions, review and approve that financial cost calculation, cash-flow and exposure curves are prepared properly.

• You will coordinate finance support and maintain good relationship with Singapore Hitachi Energy management, support business development and restructuring activities and responsible for budget setting for Singapore’s Grid Automation business.

• You will assist in coordinating pass through business for Singapore, revenue recognition policy responsible for Enterprise Software, Automation Control, Power Conversion Systems.

• You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

• You hold a bachelor’s in commerce degree in accounting or equivalent.

• More than 5 years of experience in Electrical Manufacturing or Power Industry or similar role.

• Experience across Electrical Industry within construction, Utilities, Power Generation or Power Systems projects an advantage.

• Awareness of power system technology, advanced computer skills across these tools : SAP, MS Office, MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint.

• Expresses opinions, able to work with multiple stakeholders and positions and ability to work with different cultures and nationalities and time zones.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail
