Senior Project Manager (HVDC in Spain)

The Opportunity

Energy System Project Manager leads the execution of projects and ensures that all related activities are performed in accordance with company policies, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments. Sup- ports the organization in process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Leading the project team, establishing the project execution approach and overseeing project hand-over, execution planning, monitoring and control activities for both internal and  external resources to accomplish all project goals. 

  • Effectively monitoring and controlling project progress and efficient resource utilization.  Monitoring and controlling project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Identifying, qualifying, quantifying and managing project risks, and  ensuring that all opportunities are identified and pursued. Driving the formal acceptance of  the project, ensuring contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer. 

  • Procuring all required services, materials and equipment from external and internal suppliers, including support in negotiations, claims and project changes. 

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Acting as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues 

Responsible for HVDC activities in Spain with fiduciary delegation to act as managerial focal point within HE entity in Spain including operations and site development.

Key areas of responsibility: 

  • Overseeing HVDC activities within the local structure, certifying that the area of responsibility is properly organized, skilled and staffed as per its needs. 

  • Delivering operational/project targets to ensure customer satisfaction as well as compliance with local regulations.

  • Ensuring the achievement of established targets through sufficient regular oversight and creating a definition of actions for improvement where applicable. 

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.

  • Proven experience managing large EPC projects in the energy or industrial sector.

  • Skilled in navigating complex contractual setups with clients and partners.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple teams. Influential communicator with leadership presence.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

  • Financial acumen and commercial awareness.

  • Familiar with risk, schedule, and change management.

  • Proactive mindset with a focus on results and collaboration.
