The opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our global R&D team. This role is primarily focused on the creation of 3D models and 2D drawings representing standard parts and accessories used in transformers. You will play a key role in supporting the development and maintenance of reusable components within our central engineering repository.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Design and creation of 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for standard transformer accessories and components. Ensure models meet engineering standards and are compatible with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define and maintain specifications for reusable parts. Support the integration of 3D models into the central PLM repository and ensure alignment with global standards.
  • Assist factories in implementing standardized components and accessories. Analyze part data and attributes, classify them appropriately, and validate against global specifications.
  • Participate in the migration and cleansing of legacy standards into the central repository. Provide operational support for classification and attribute selection of standard parts.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality teams to verify mapping of global standards to supplier products.
  • Ensure high data quality and consistency across standard transformer components. Work closely with cross-functional teams to define classification structures and attributes.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with 3-5 years of experience
  • Proficiency in PTC Creo for 3D modeling is essential. Familiarity with PLM systems such as PTC Windchill is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of international standards (ISO, DIN, IEC, IEEE, ANSI). Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Experience in the transformer industry or similar mechanical engineering domains is preferred. Experience with Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes is a plus.
  • Exposure to data analysis and classification of engineering components is beneficial. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
