To deliver maximum value, we have organized our operations around four global Business Units - Grid Automation, Grid Integration, High Voltage Products and Transformers. Our offices and R&D centers are spanning across, more than 90 countries. Our 40,000 talented experts are committed to making energy more accessible, affordable and sustainable – improving the quality of life for millions of people globally.

In Grid Integration, HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) and HVDC Light® are highly efficient alternatives for transmitting bulk power and for special purpose applications. The classic HVDC technology is used to transmit electric power over long distances by overhead transmission lines or submarine cables.  It is also used to inter-connect separate power systems, where traditional alternating current (AC) connections cannot be used.

To fulfill the current and future requirements of High Voltage DC (HVDC) transmission, HITACHI Energy, has developed a fully computerized control and protection system using state-of-the-art computers, micro-controllers and Digital Signal Processors connected by high performance industrial standard buses and fiber optic communication links. This system called as Modular Advanced Control system for High performance (MACH™), is the brain in HVDC transmission systems. MACH is the most advanced and highest performing HVDC control system in the market and has gradually evolved to an unequaled installed base around the world.
