Pittsburgh, May 14, 2026 – Hitachi Energy announced today a new partnership with the Pittsburgh Riveters Soccer Club. Hitachi Energy is now a Riveters sponsor, establishing a multi-year commitment to advancing women’s sports and inspiring the next generation of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Through this partnership, Hitachi Energy will support community-based programs that connect young women with role models across sport and engineering, helping to build confidence, expand opportunities, and encourage participation in technical careers. The partnership also extends to branding at the F.N.B Stadium and during tournaments at AHN Montour Sports Complex.

At the heart of the collaboration is the “PowerHER Up” workshop series, which will deliver hands-on STEM and leadership programming for girls aged 10 to 18. These sessions will be led by Hitachi Energy engineers alongside Riveters players and coaching staff, bringing together perspectives from both the field and the lab to encourage growth in technical skills and leadership capabilities.

This partnership reflects our belief that the future of energy depends on the diversity of the people who shape it. By working with the Pittsburgh Riveters, we are not only championing women’s sports but also creating opportunities for young women to engage directly with role models, explore STEM pathways, and discover what a future in these fields can look like.

The Pittsburgh Riveters were founded to create opportunities for women in sports while building meaningful connections within our community. Partnering with Hitachi Energy allows us to expand that mission, bringing together soccer, education, and leadership to inspire the next generation of women both on and off the field.

In addition to community programming, the partnership includes a Women Empowerment Scholarship initiative funded by Hitachi Energy, with two $5,000 USD scholarships awarded to students pursuing studies in engineering or related fields. The recipients will be recognized during an upcoming Riveters game, reinforcing the importance of education and opportunity in building the talent of tomorrow.

The partnership will come to life throughout the season at F.N.B Stadium, where Hitachi Energy will participate in matchday activities alongside the Riveters, creating opportunities to connect directly with fans, families, and local students.

The Pittsburgh Riveters began play in the USL W League in 2025 and represent a growing ecosystem of women’s soccer in the U.S. The club draws inspiration from the iconic Rosie the Riveter figure – an enduring symbol of strength, resilience, and female empowerment – and is committed to creating new pathways for athletes while engaging deeply with the local community.

Hitachi Energy has a strong and growing presence in Pennsylvania, where the company is investing more than $70 million USD to expand its operations and support the increasing demand for reliable and resilient grid infrastructure. This includes EconiQ®, the company’s eco-efficient portfolio of SF6-free high-voltage switchgear and breakers. The investment includes expanding existing facilities in Mount Pleasant, developing new capabilities in the region, and creating over 100 new jobs in Westmoreland County. Through continued investment and local hiring, Hitachi Energy is strengthening its role as a long-term partner in Pennsylvania’s energy and economic development.

This collaboration builds on Hitachi Energy’s broader commitment to building the energy systems of the future – together with the people and communities they serve. By supporting local organizations like this, the company is helping create opportunities for the next generation and drive long-term progress in society. This effort aligns with Hitachi Energy’s commitment to working with women’s sporting franchises worldwide.
