We are now looking for a Tender Controller at Hitachi Energy, Grid Integration business in Vaasa (FI) or Västerås (SE).

In this role you will be responsible for providing robust financial control and analysis for projects and tenders, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost management, and risk mitigation to support profitable business growth.

How you’ll make an impact
 

  • Support tender processes by ensuring accurate cost estimations, financial risk assessments, and profitability analyses
  • Develop and maintain financial models for project profitability, cash flow, exposure and working capital. Become super user for the tender calculation tool.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies including the Risk Review process, accounting standards (IFRS), and relevant legal regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with tender managers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on tender project performance KPIs, including exposure, margin analysis, and project risks.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary financial documentation and explanations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in project controlling and tender management.
  • Manage currency risk exposure for projects in the tendering stage, implementing appropriate hedging strategies where necessary.
  • Provide advice regarding contractual set-up's including eventual consortiums, export financing, bonds, Letter of Credits etc.

Your background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in project controlling, tender controlling, or a similar financial analysis role, preferably within a project-based industry.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting principles (e.g., percentage of completion, revenue recognition).
  • Proficiency in SAP (FI/CO, PS modules) and advanced MS Excel skills are essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; Finnish and/or Swedish skills are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards is highly desirable.
