Category Manager-Substation,Power Quality Projects

We are looking for a proactive and commercially driven Category Manager / Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing and supplier management activities for assigned categories. This role will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, driving cost optimization initiatives, ensuring supplier performance, and supporting business growth through effective procurement and supply chain management practices.

The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen, supplier relationship management skills, and strategic sourcing expertise to deliver excellence in cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability.


Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
  • Develop and implement category sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and long-term growth plans.
  • Continuously evaluate market trends, supplier capabilities, and supply risks to ensure a competitive and resilient supply base.
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to improve cost, quality, delivery performance, and supplier reliability.
Procurement & Commercial Management
  • Plan, manage, and monitor procurement activities, budgets, spend analysis, and savings initiatives.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and commercial procedures.
  • Support project teams by developing procurement plans and sourcing strategies.
Supplier Development & Relationship Management
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers capable of meeting business requirements.
  • Build strong partnerships with key suppliers and conduct regular business reviews.
  • Organize supplier pipeline and performance review meetings.
  • Monitor supplier KPIs including quality, delivery, responsiveness, sustainability, and cost competitiveness.
Contract & Negotiation Management
  • Lead commercial negotiations related to pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual agreements.
  • Develop and manage framework agreements and long-term supplier contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate contractual policies and local business requirements.
Project & Tender Support
  • Partner closely with engineering, project, and proposal teams to prepare RFQs and sourcing plans.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and provide recommendations based on technical and commercial evaluations.
  • Support project budgeting and cost estimation activities.
  • Source materials and equipment from both internal and external suppliers.
Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Design and implement cost-reduction initiatives to achieve financial targets.
  • Drive value engineering, supplier consolidation, and productivity improvement programs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements across the supply chain.
Risk Management & Business Continuity
  • Develop and implement supplier risk mitigation and business continuity plans.
  • Monitor supply chain risks and proactively address potential disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with sustainability, ethical sourcing, and responsible procurement standards.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Project Management, Finance, and Quality.
  • Mentor and support team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Contribute to departmental budgeting, planning, and performance target achievement.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8-15 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Category Management, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience in Industrial, Energy, Power Systems, EPC, Manufacturing, Automation, or Engineering sectors preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier development experience.
  • Proven track record in cost reduction and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.
