SCMS _RTU commissioning Engineer

The opportunity

Substation Automation Systems Testing & Commissioning for various projects. Act as the responsible commissioning engineer overseeing the installation and commissioning of Substation Automation systems for assignments classified as medium commissioning complexity. Manage completion of all commissioning activities efficiently and cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

How you’ll make an impact           

  • Represents the Commissioning function at project meetings and design review meetings and implements commissioning design changes and the production of as built project.

  • documentation. Supports continuous improvement of project process and product and system design via provision of lessons learned feedback.

  • Supports Project Managers in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc).

  • Creates work plans and cost estimates for work in own area of responsibility and proactively manages this work to deliver the agreed program on time, on quality and at targeted cost.

  • Coordinates site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance certification. Acts as the Hitachi Energy lead for commissioning activities on a project. Ensures that Hitachi Energy
    is presented as a professional organization in all interactions with the customer.

  •  Manages external organizations providing Commissioning with equipment, systems or services (e.g. issues permit to work, provides guidance on health and safety requirements
    and work practices, accepts as complete work done). Coaches Associate Commissioning Engineers.

  • Uses agreed processes and procedures to ensure that all commissioning activities comply with the required safety regulations and satisfy contractual requirements.

  • Task manages a small Commissioning team and prepares project documentation for SAT.

  • Obtain approvals from utilities for Commissioning activities of SAS Systems. Broad knowledge systems and the technical environment will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

  • You will be ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background          

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering.

  • 2 – 3 projects per year.

  • Thorough knowledge of Substation automation systems and RTU with different communication Protocols.

  • In-depth Product knowledge of Hitachi Energy and Competitor’s.

  • Working knowledge & understanding of GRS system on various protocol i.e., IEC101, IEC104.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written in English language is required.
