Head of Supplier Quality and Development– BU Service (F/M/D)

The opportunity

We are seeking a Head of Supplier Quality and Development for our Service Business Unit, a global leadership role with end‑to‑end responsibility for strengthening supplier quality, performance, and maturity across the Service supply base.

This role will involve shaping governance, driving alignment across regions, and acting as the senior interface between hubs, group functions, and key business stakeholders. You will be accountable for preventive supplier quality assurance, the management of critical escalations, and the continuous improvement of supplier delivery and quality performance for strategic and critical suppliers. The position combines functional leadership, hands‑on expertise, and cross‑functional collaboration. The role reports to the Global BU Service Head of Supply Chain Management.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will lead Supplier Quality and Development for BU Service at global level, acting as the primary point of coordination between regional Supplier Quality organizations, Group Functions, and BU stakeholders, ensuring consistent application of Supplier Quality standards within BU Service.

  • You will provide functional leadership and guidance to Supplier Quality Engineering teams in the Hubs, acting as a senior tutor, and escalation point.

  • You will support the development of competencies, tools, and best practices to strengthen supplier quality maturity across regions.

  • You will take ownership of complex and escalated supplier quality issues, including critical non‑conformities and claims impacting safety, performance, delivery, or customer satisfaction, ensuring effective root‑cause analysis and robust corrective actions.

  • You will monitor and consolidate global supplier quality and delivery performance for BU Service, including KPIs and critical non‑conformities, identifying high‑risk or underperforming suppliers and prioritizing targeted actions in coordination with regional teams and Category Management.

  • You will plan and lead supplier audits for critical and strategic global suppliers, including assessment reporting and corrective action plan alignment.

  • You will lead supplier performance improvement initiatives for selected suppliers to meet BU Service and factory expectations, promoting structured problem‑solving and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. DMAIC, 8D).

  • You will work closely with Category Management to support category strategies and sourcing decisions from a supplier quality and development perspective, ensuring alignment on priorities and development needs at global level.

  • You will collaborate with internal Quality and Operations teams to support performance improvement of internal suppliers, in line with defined operating models.

  • You will lead and contribute to global quality and continuous improvement projects, representing BU Service objectives and targets.

  • Additional responsibilities consistent with the scope and seniority of the role, as required.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in engineering: preferably electrical and electronic, computer, or mechatronics (or similar)

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in one of the fields: product development, production, quality assurance, or supplier development

  • Familiar with problem solving methodologies (e.g. DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5Why Analysis, etc…) and interest to work with external suppliers for quick problem resolution (design, software and manufacturing issues).

  • Proven experience with the process audits, APQP/PPAP, FMEA, Process Control Plan

  • Familiarity with ISO-9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and external auditor certification is a plus

  • Knowledge of supply chain for service is a plus

  • Willingness to travel globally (30% of the time) and fluency in English both written and spoken

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills and ability to create a collaborative environment for accomplishing project objectives
