How you’ll make an impact

  • You will in charge of digital related business development and proposals to Power Grid Utilities and Industrial customers in T&D equipment service business.

  • You will analyze customer work process and issues, then design and propose new business models and service concepts, including the creation of new customer value through digital technologies.

  • You will identify, evaluate, and develop concrete digital service opportunities, including but not limited to: Utilization of equipment operation data through the introduction of remote monitoring systems for switchgear and transformers, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and operational requirements.

  • Proposal of AI-based solutions to address customer operational challenges, such as improving on-site information searchability through AI-OCR and related technologies.

  • Application of 3D scanning technologies for site measurement and condition assessment, and integration with 3D CAD software (e.g. CREO) to support engineering and planning activities, digitalization of equipment training materials, including the use of video-based and other digital learning content.

  • You will drive internal Digital Transformation (DX) initiatives by improving and automating business processes through the effective use of existing enterprise systems such as SAP and Salesforce, as well as Power BI and AI agent technologies.

  • You will work in close collaboration with multiple departments within Hitachi, including research laboratories, Control & Instrumentation (C&I), Hitachi Power Solutions (HPS), and industrial product divisions, to promote cross-functional digital solutions.

  • You will support and contribute to digital-related events, external communications, and collaboration activities, representing digital initiatives and service innovations to internal and external stakeholders.

  • You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree of Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related disciplines.)

  • Experience in collaboration and negotiation with customers, especially in the power and energy sector, participation in academic or professional societies (e.g. CIGRE, IEEJ, IEEE), experience in using and/or implementing enterprise systems such as SAP and Salesforce.

  • Experience in data visualization and analysis using BI tools such as Power BI, knowledge of business innovation frameworks such as Business Model Canvas and Lean Startup and experience working collaboratively with engineers and data scientists.

  • Knowledge of the power and energy industry, experience in visualizing business processes, identifying issues, and proposing process improvements also experience in planning and executing digital transformation (DX) initiatives, including PoC activities and deployment into actual business operations.

  • Basic knowledge of user-centered design (UX design). A proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to drive transformation while engaging and influencing surrounding stakeholders.

  • Ability to listen to on-site stakeholders and identify underlying, essential challenges.

  • Capability to create value from both technical and business perspectives.

  • Business-level English proficiency (sufficient for professional communication).
