The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

As a Manufacturing Quality Laboratory Services professional at Hitachi, Ltd., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality standards for our manufactured products. You will be responsible for conducting a variety of laboratory tests, analyzing results, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our quality control processes.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will perform a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products according to established protocols and industry standards.
2. You will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality, document test results accurately and meticulously, maintaining detailed records and reports.
3. You will analyze test data, identify trends, and report any deviations or non-conformances to relevant stakeholders, collaborate with manufacturing teams to investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
4. You will assist in the development and validation of new testing methods and procedures, contribute to the continuous improvement of the laboratory's quality management system.
5. You will ensure compliance with all safety regulations and good laboratory practices (GLP), participate in internal and external audits related to quality and laboratory operations and train and mentor junior laboratory personnel as required.

6. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
2. Proven experience (e.g., 2+ years) working in a manufacturing quality control laboratory environment.
3. Strong understanding of various analytical techniques and instrumentation (e.g., spectroscopy, chromatography, microscopy, mechanical testing).
4. Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and relevant industry standards. Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
5. Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Commitment to safety and quality assurance.

7. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
