The Opportunity

Are you passionate about creating a safe and compliant workplace? We are looking for a Safety Specialist who will serve as the local expert and trusted advisor within safety, business continuity and compliance.


In this role, you will drive key initiatives, support leaders and employees, and ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture across the organization. As the dedicated Safety Specialist for the unit, you will report directly to the Unit Manager while collaborating closely with Hitachi Energy's network of Safety Coordinators and working functionally with the Country Security Managers for Sweden.


How You'll Make an Impact

  • Drive and support business continuity initiatives while ensuring compliance with company standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace and environmental risks, driving continuous improvement and promoting a proactive safety culture across the organization.
  • Lead and coordinate trainings, audits, inspections, and risk assessments while providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
  • Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and compliance-related concerns, ensuring root causes are identified and effective preventive actions are implemented.
  • Collaborate with authorities, local communities, and internal stakeholders to continuously improve environmental and safety performance and address situations that may impact the company's reputation.

Your Background

  • Several years of experience within EHS, HSE, Safety, Risk Management, Compliance or Business Continuity in an industrial, manufacturing, or technical environment.
  • Solid understanding of environmental and occupational health & safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, with a structured and analytical approach.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, drive change, and work effectively across all levels of an organization. Previous managerial experience is considered a merit.
  • Experience working with supplier quality and supplier development is considered a merit.
