Project Quality Manager (PQM)

You as a Project Quality Manager will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the preparation of the quality section of the offer, including, the Project Quality Plan and the applicable standard inspection and test programs and any other quality related document and providing feedback on the quality section of client specification and provide deviations, required from the customer to tendering.
  • Register quality risks in the risk register based on analysis and ensure mitigations are identified and follow up and ensuring that negotiation results related to quality are documented and the corresponding impact on the tender considered.
  • Review and distribution of all applicable regulations, codes and standards related to quality and prepare quality budget proposal on resources and costs for approval and applying lessons learnt from previous projects and document them for future use.
  • Participating to project kick off meeting to ensure that the project quality plan, inspection & test program, and all quality requirements are communicated and implemented on the project and maintaining point of contact and Interface with the customer on test coordination & Project Quality issues.
  • Developing, implementing, and following up the quality management system (QMS) for the project in the form of the project quality plan (PQP). The PQP shall be based on HVDCs IMS in addition to specific project specific procedures. Deviations to IMS processes and documents are to be discussed and risks registered within the project deviation database.
  • Driving quality culture, quality assurance, quality control and compliance with local codes & standards, law & regulations on the Project and developing and implementing a project quality audit schedule as per customer requirements and the internal requirements of the Business and the quality management system.
  • Communicate the inspection and test program (ITP) to the client in a timely manner, in line with project schedule deliverables.
  • Responsibility for creating, communicating & following up the master ITP register based on input from various functions.
  • Identifying W&H and notification req (contract review) and coordinate & send out witnessing notifications and follow up / ensure compliance. Coordinate inspection activities for suppliers, in collaboration with Supply Chain function, and for site in collaboration with site team.
  • Work with the Project Team to ensure adequate Quality Control expertise is available at the appropriate project delivery point (i.e. Supply Chain, construction, commissioning, handover)
  • Provide input to the Project reviews and ensure Quality aspects are covered.
  • Ensuring supplier quality documentation meets both contract and Hitachi Energy requirements, quality documentation is archived and transferred to Services if applicable, the Project Quality documentation is transferred to Customer as per project contract requirements and the process to consider local quality requirements for the scope of project supply has been implemented and followed.

Your background           

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field is required.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
