EHS Quality & CI Manager - Japan

Your responsibilities:

  • You will be contributing to effective risk management of HSE-related issues by providing specialist knowledge and advice to the local operations.
  • You will ensure timely notification of HSE incidents to the management team and Hub HSE Manager, ensuring incidents are investigated and lessons learned are shared.
  • You will be responsible for delivering and deploying HSE training, audit, and Group-wide performance improvement programs to the Local Operating Units. 
  • You will contribute to assessing emerging trends and legislation in HSE and communicate relevant information on legal requirements within your area of expertise.
  • You will coordinate internal group HSE and external ISO 14001 and 45001 audits and support follow-up of improvement actions in the Local Operating Units.
  • You will cooperate across functions and with business partners to raise awareness drive performance and engage with internal and external stakeholders to build commitment and credibility for the Operating Unit.
  • You will contribute to driving behavioral change and continuous improvement through the delivery of training and competency.
  • You will develop initiatives and provide expert support to the Local Operating Units in line with the yearly GA HSE improvement plan and 2030 Sustainability Plan.
  • You will contribute to and/or plan and execute HSE performance and Corporate Social Responsibility related projects.
  • You will develop and report on project HSE objectives and support Project operations in managing project resources and documentation.

Your background:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, IT, Health, Safety or Environment Management, Quality Assurance).
  • Proven experience >5 years as an HSEQ Manager or in a similar
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Certifications in relevant HSEQ disciplines are a plus (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of Japanese and international HSEQ regulations.
  • Engineering/Trade qualifications – Electrical or equivalent, more than 5 year's experience in Electrical Manufacturing or Power Industry in a similar role
  • Experience across the Electrical Industry within construction, Software, Utilities, Power Generation, or Power Systems is an advantage.
  • Advanced computer skills across MS Office, MS Teams, Outlook, and Share point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (both English and Japanese), high attention to detail
  • Expresses opinions, able to work with multiple stakeholders and positions.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above is preferable.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & and written English language is required.
