Hitachi Energy has been awarded a Gold Medal by EcoVadis, placing the company in the 98th percentile of all organizations assessed globally. With an overall score of 84 out of 100 in 2026, the company maintains the same score achieved in the previous year, an important marker of consistency and robust systems, as sustainability expectations rise and the organization continues to grow in scale and complexity.

Hitachi Energy’s sustainability journey

With a global workforce now exceeding 50,000 employees, Hitachi Energy is assessed against more rigorous criteria than in previous years, with higher expectations around governance maturity, policy coverage, implementation consistency, and value‑chain oversight.

The most significant gains in 2026 were achieved in the Environment category, where Hitachi Energy scored 95, up from 89 in 2025, representing the largest year‑on‑year increase across all themes.

Hitachi Energy also recorded progress in Sustainable Procurement, increasing its score to 81, up from 79 in 2025. These improvements contribute to a strong overall performance, while clearly highlighting opportunities to further strengthen our sustainability practices and drive continued improvement in our overall EcoVadis score in the year ahead.

Looking ahead

Maintaining an 84/100 score for a second consecutive year, while ranking in the 98th percentile of companies globally, is particularly meaningful. It reinforces confidence that sustainability remains a core focus as Hitachi Energy continues to expand its operations and global presence. Building on these strong foundations, Hitachi Energy now has even greater opportunities to deepen its impact and continue advancing sustainability performance.
