Power Grids Grid Automation holds ABB’s Enterprise Software Digital Transformation Summit 2016

ABB has rolled out a two-day customer conference in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 16-17, 2016. The seminar was host by Power Grids Grid Automation – Enterprise Software Product Group with the purpose to present software solution for asset intensive industries such as mining, energy, and transportation field. In addition, event served strengthen commitment to customers and business partners. The event was supported by ABB’s channel partners PT Mitrais and PT EMS Paramitra.

More than 90 senior executives and decision makers attended the Digital Transformation Summit in Jakarta, with key representatives from Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta, Baramulti Group, PT Bukit Asam, Jhonlin Group, ANTAM, Wahana Baratama Mining, Britmindo, PT Borneo Alam Semesta, as well as research university, ITB.

The event was opened by Dodon Mutiara Ramlie, Director of ABB in Indonesia, who highlighted the profile of ABB Group and ABB in Indonesia. He also elaborated ABB's Enterprise Software offerings particularly for mining, utilities, and transportation. The same message was further reinforced by Laurie Tolson, ABB Global Product Group Manager Enterprise Software, Kennet Wilhelmsson, ABB Enterprise Software Regional Manager, APAC and Predrag Grupkovic, ABB Local Business Manager Power Grids Grid Automation in Indonesia.

The conference encompassed presentations by renowned industry analysts from IDC who provided insights and forecasts on the Indonesian mining and utility markets. Cybersecurity expert Brendon Laws, Director of Security Solutions Architecture at SecureWorks South East Asia challenged the audience by enquiring how secure their assets really are, and revealing how to actually protect them from a cybersecurity attack.

Customers were the centerpiece of this event, and participants were able to listen to customer success stories and project updates from organizations such as MRT (Mass Rail Transit) from Agung Wicaksono, Director of Operations, as well as PT Bukit Asam's Achmad Sudarto, Director of Finance, who fostered a better understanding of how they're transforming their business to be a world leading energy company.

The day turned out to be very interactive with questions flying in the air during the presentations. The participants were able to listen and network with their peers, ABB executives and solutions experts in plenary sessions and 14 industry and technical tracks - exemplifying the connected theme. Meanwhile, the ABB's solution showcase was well attended by customers who were interested in the opportunity to participate in a hands-on experience with the latest products, solutions and improvements and how these solutions could provide value for their business.

The seminar itself enabled ABB's commitment to continue support in achieving customer business objectives and lead to several potential projects for ABB in the near future.
