Hitachi Energy signs a technical cooperation agreement and equips laboratories for SENAI professional courses

The partnership includes the complete structure of 2 laboratories focused on Protection and Control Systems, Cybersecurity, Asset Management and Maintenance 4.0

The global leader in technology, Hitachi Energy is a partner of SENAI (National Service for Industrial Learning), a private not for profit Brazilian institution of public interest, with the primary objective of offering educational technological solutions for technical courses in the energy sector (Electrotechnics and Renewable Energy Systems) and maintenance (Asset Management), as well as the creation of new professional improvement and specialization courses, following market trends to increase the competitiveness of the Brazilian industry.

Hitachi Energy has placed sustainability at the heart of its purpose – advancing a sustainable energy future for all. Through its Sustainability 2030 plan and targets, the company reinforces its commitment to accelerating actions driving business in a sustainable way. The strategic plan is built around four key pillars: Planet, People, Peace and Partnerships and draws from the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part  of its people pillars, Hitachi has set clear targets on supporting SDG 4 (quality education), reflected in this partnership. For the technical cooperation agreement with SENAI, the company will supply the complete structure of 2 laboratories. The schools, Senai Almirante Tamandaré, in São Bernardo do Campo (SP) and Senai Jorge Mahfuz in Pirituba (SP), will receive state-of-the-art equipment and software to develop activities in Asset Management, Cybersecurity, Networks and communication protocols, Industry 4.0, and Protection and Control Systems.

“For us, it is essential to be partners with SENAI, an entity consolidated as an educational institution and recognized as a source of innovative and cutting-edge solutions. Especially in this project, whose main themes are the areas in which we also dedicate our expertise and technology”, says José Paiva, Country Managing Director of Hitachi Energy in Brazil.

With the start of activities scheduled for January 2023, Senai Almirante Tamandaré will serve more than 300 students a year. Free technical-level courses will be offered to high school students, in addition to paid undergraduate, graduate, and specialization courses for professionals in the power sector and industry.

On the other hand, the Jorge Mahfuz school is already operational. Its curriculum has technical, undergraduate, and graduate courses in the power sector. In partnership with Hitachi Energy, it will modernize its laboratories, equipping them with the most modern industry.

“We are very proud to contribute to a project that fosters a culture of continuous learning, develops and trains young generation for the job market and the 'professionals of the future'. As the pioneering technology leader, we collaborate with customers and partners to enable a sustainable energy future – for today’s generations and those to come. ”, concludes Paiva.
