Global Operations Manager - Product Group Distribution & Traction Transformers

The opportunity

As the Global Operations Manager - Product Group Distribution & Traction Transformers, you will Lead the development and execution of the GPG Operations strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall business unit and GPG business strategy. Partnering with over 25 locations engaged in the manufacturing of liquid type, dry type, and traction transformers you will drive operational efficiency, process optimization & automation, digital transformation and productivity across the entire value chain. Focus on enhancing customer satisfaction, lowering operating costs, and promoting a culture of HSE, continuous improvement and sustainable growth within the GPG.

How you'll make an impact

  • Drive Automation to the Next Level, Leverage automation possibilities from other industries such as 3D printing and humanoid robots, and integrate these advancements into our transformer manufacturing processes.
  • Innovate with Digital Tools and AI, collaborate closely with the Digital team to drive innovation in our manufacturing processes, making the most of digital tools and artificial intelligence.
  • Collaborate with Equipment Suppliers, Work on developing and implementing innovative production methods with our equipment suppliers.
  • Improve Factory Utilization, Search for alternative methods to enhance factory utilization, aiming for better output and higher productivity.
  • Develop and refine a customer-focused global operations strategy aligned with BU and GPG priorities.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust strategies to evolving technologies and conditions.
  • Oversee CapEx planning and approvals, ensuring alignment with sustainability and strategic goals.
  • Establish governance frameworks for compliance, risk management, and operational performance.
  • Define and track KPIs for safety, delivery, cost, productivity, and other key metrics.
  • Standardize global procedures and production standards across HUBs and factories.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to adapt standards and share best practices.
  • Drive digitalization initiatives and implement tools to improve operational efficiency and transparency.
  • Ensure quality management systems meet industry standards and foster continuous improvement.
  • Lead process optimization and service excellence initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a strong HSE culture and maintain global health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Foster leadership development, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration within global operations teams.

Your background

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing or operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position within a global manufacturing company.
  • Strong understanding of operational budgeting, CapEx planning, and financial analysis to optimize resource allocation.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align operational strategies with broader business goals.
  • Expertise in digital transformation and process optimization, with a passion for leveraging technology to drive efficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong commitment to fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and innovation.
