The opportunity 

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Test Setup Competency Specialist to join our cross-functional Factory System Testing (FST) team. This role focuses on leveraging test setup expertise to ensure efficient and high-quality execution. You will contribute to complete test setups, including firmware and hardware testing, enhancing the team's overall competency in delivering successful project outcomes. 

In our FST team, we are responsible for establishing control systems test setup for customer projects, which involve multiple cubicles equipped with necessary hardware and test equipment. Project team then implements both MACH control system platform applications and Station Operation and Monitoring (SOM) systems, verify functionality using advanced test equipment, such as Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS), and conducts customer acceptance activities prior to dispatching the systems to the site. 

How you will make an impact 

  • Collaborate with Control Engineering to ensure alignment in instructions and way of working. 

  • Conduct comprehensive test setups, including loading board firmware, hardware testing, and setup of RTDS. 

  • Manage KVM configuration and Windows license activation. 

  • Facilitate testing of spares to support project needs. 

Your background 

  • Engineering Degree in relevant field. 

  • Experience of commissioning control system.   

  • Experience in test setup and hardware testing. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
