Service Project Manager

The opportunity

We are looking for a Service Project Manager to join our Service Business Unit at Hitachi Energy in Finland. You will partly work from your home office, but a big part of your work will be done at customer sites. Primary location is Vantaa. Alternatively, Tampere or Lahti may be considered with a remote setup. Other remote locations may also be considered based on the candidate’s qualifications. There will be travelling involved in Finland and Sweden.

In this role you will manage service contracts and handle communication between customers and the service team. You will coordinate and agree on the required service activities with both the customer and the maintenance team.

This is a versatile role that allows you to lead service work at site as well as execute practical service work yourself.

Currently, the role focuses on managing service agreements, including key clients in the Espoo/Helsinki area. In addition, you will act as a project manager for service projects, including substation refurbishment and high-voltage compensation delivery and upgrade projects. Customer communication, reporting and invoicing are part of the work. The role includes also some small-scale sales and preparation of offers relating to service contracts.

  • Providing sales and maintenance services related to power distribution
  • Acting as Project Manager for service projects
  • Providing high-end specialist services
  • Establishing long-term customer relationships by understanding customers' needs and demonstrating in-depth technical service solutions knowledge  
  • Being a single point of contact for the customers  
  • Building trust and maintaining sustainable relationships with customers by handling and coordinating warranty jobs, ensuring continuous communication and connecting them with our sales team

Your background

  • B.Sc. in electrical engineering and relevant experience with power systems or other suitable education and vast experience with power systems
  • Electrical Qualification Level 1, or eligibility to obtain the required certification
  • Service oriented person with solution-oriented approach
  • Self-driven and persistent attitude towards challenges. You work actively and professionally both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Basic IT skills as well as the ability to learn modern engineering applications
  • High integrity and a strong “safety first” mindset
  • Experience from power system service / maintenance
  • Understanding power quality, relay protection and communication is an advantage
  • Understanding the basics of substation design is seen as an advantage
  • Knowledge of commercial contracts is an advantage
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in Finnish. Basic skills in English
  • Quality-focused, customer-oriented team player who is willing to commit to long-term objectives and development 
  • Driver’s license
