Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The Global Power+ Graduate Development Program is an 18-month rotational graduate program. Participants complete three six-month assignments across different business lines, geographies and working environments. The program follows an “explorer” approach where participants choose their own assignments that best align with their interests. It is designed to fast-track recent graduates into specialist or leadership roles, with structured mentoring throughout. Candidates with STEM backgrounds are most commonly recruited, though other disciplines are considered. After the program, participants apply for the roles that best fit their interests before being recruited into their permanent role.

Internship lengths vary by country and role, ranging from 2 weeks to 12 months. Most internships require candidates to be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program, though in some countries they are also open to technical secondary school students.

We recruit across engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems, software), project management, commercial roles, operations, finance, IT and digital functions. STEM backgrounds are most in demand, particularly for technical roles, but commercial and support function roles are open to a wider range of academic backgrounds.

Internships, graduate programs, and entry-level roles are available globally. Summer jobs are primarily based in Europe. Thesis project availability depends on the specific country and team. Use the open jobs page to filter by location and early career.

Little to no prior work experience is required for internships, summer jobs or thesis projects. Graduate program applicants are typically recent graduates. The programs are designed as entry points into the company, so the focus is on academic background, motivation and potential rather than previous professional experience.

Yes. You can apply for multiple open roles simultaneously through HiNext, our applicant tracking system. In some countries, a single internship posting covers a category of roles — applying to one listing means the recruiting team will match you to the most relevant opportunity within that category.

Applications are submitted through HiNext, our applicant tracking system, through our careers site. The process typically includes an online application and CV submission, followed by one or more interviews. The recruitment process page provides a full overview of the steps involved and what to expect at each stage.

Yes. Thesis projects are available in various countries, aligned to real engineering and research challenges Hitachi Energy is working on. Students work alongside practicing engineers with access to company facilities, data and expertise. Search for thesis project openings on the open jobs page, or use the "Introduce Yourself" feature to register your interest.
