Senior Design Engineer

General information:

Create and modify the standard designs of equipment, systems or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction for assignments classified as low to medium complexity by applying standard design concepts.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will design engineering solutions for substation automation control and protection, including drawings and IEDs configuration according to specification, contribute to design reviews and design verification, modify design as necessary and for sales support.

  • You will identify variation requests to support contract claim, follow work plans and cost estimate for work in one’s area of responsibility, ensure quality deliverables on time and at targeted cost.

  • You will complete risk and opportunity assessments and the implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility and report any contract / quality / program / cost issues to management for resolution.

  • You will attend project meetings and presents specific aspects of design assignments and collaborate with the supply chain function, reviews and prepares RFQs, provide design related evaluation of proposals for standard materials and equipment.

  • You will assist in communication with customer pertaining to specific project design assignments or meetings, use standard processes and tools, assist in developing new processes and tools for reuse of technical solutions. You will provide support and direction for entry level team members, which may include trainees and interns.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

  • More than 8 years of experiences working in Schematic designs.

  • Knowledge of relay protection, substation automation design and the utility and industry market, able to use AutoCAD and E3.

  • Further experience working in IEDs configuration would be advantageous.

  • Proven ability to develop and manage customer relationships.

  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills, high attention to detail.
