Production Scheduler

Basic Function: Generate a detailed production schedule based on the production plan to maximize the use of resources and meet established production specifications and schedules.  Identify constraints and take appropriate countermeasures to deliver an executable schedule to the factory.

Primary Responsibilities:
 

  • Production schedule - From the production plan creates and maintains detailed production schedule.

  • Work orders - Releases manufacturing work orders. Executes daily, plant-level materials requirement planning (MRP) to create and manage production requirements to meet the production delivery schedules.

  • Sequencing - Establishes sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipment dates per the master schedule/plan obtained from the Production Planners.

  • Schedule adherence - Monitors schedule adherence, identifies key root causes for deviation and takes follow-up improvement action.

  • Reports information on production capacity issues and material availability impacting schedules to production and materials managers.

  • Manages MRP (Materials Resource Planning) exception messages on a daily basis. Working with local production and purchasing managers to resolve issues.

  • Calculates and maintains in the ERP planning systems inventory parameters for: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead-time, and replenishment strategies for make to stock items

  • Works with buyers to resolve material shortages and understand when incoming materials are to be received. 

  • Works with customer service to provide appropriate delivery dates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred planning and/or Manufacturing experience

  • Preferred SAP or similar ERP experience in MM and PP module

  • Ability to work cross-functionally within a global value chain

  • Independent analysis/decision-making capabilities

  • Above average Microsoft excel skills

  • Strong communicator and teamwork oriented

  • Organized and exhibits a sense of urgency when necessary.

  • Takes initiative to drive projects and lead others

  • Employs root cause analysis approach

  • Strong sense of customer focus and quality

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering, minimum of 2 years of experience in similar role, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
