Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our Service team as a Senior Buyer - Sourcing. The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing procurement activities in support of key projects, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and high-quality supply of goods and services. The Senior Buyer is an integral part of the Supply Chain Management team, working together to meet KPI’s and add real value to the overall success of Project Delivery.

The role requires close collaboration with project teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. This role provides the right individual to make a significant contribution to the Business.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Lead sourcing activities for Service Business to align with Project demands.

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies which align with the Project timelines and budgets.

  • Ensure Sourcing activities are carried out in line with local Procurement Policy.

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.

  • Assist in setting up Framework Agreements, negotiation on pricing and terms and conditions to achieve best value for the Project.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, specifically bids and pricing, and the evaluation process.

  • Provide regular reports on cost performance, savings, and KPIs.

  • Support forecasting and financial planning activities.

  • Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance evaluations.

  • Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives within the supply base.

Background:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related discipline.

  • Professional certification or working towards MCIPS.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Proven experience in procurement, sourcing in particular for site-based installation activities.

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and cost management capabilities.

  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.

  • Proficiency in procurement or ERP systems, SAP.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
