Senior R&D Engineer – High Voltage Circuit Breakers 80 - 100% (f/m/d)

Join our High Voltage Products Business Unit in Zurich-Oerlikon. We develop world-class High Voltage Circuit Breakers. As an R&D Senior Engineer, you will work on innovative solutions from concept to implementation. You will collaborate with global experts and engineers to create best-in-class products. How you’ll make an impact
 

  • Develop new products and core components for High Voltage Circuit Breakers, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, technical experts, and scientists across our global R&D team to drive innovation and share knowledge

  • Plan, execute, and analyze engineering simulations using both commercial and in-house tools to support product development

  • Take ownership of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, playing a key role in technology and product development projects

  • Transform simulation and testing results into validated designs that deliver strong and consistent performance in real-world applications

  • Contribute to defining future development directions and actively improve the capabilities of our CFD simulation tools and methodologies

  • Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports to ensure knowledge sharing and support decision-making processes

  • Leverage expertise to provide insights that guide management decisions and strengthen global R&D efforts

Your background
 

  • Master’s degree in mechanical or high voltage engineering

  • Experience in power equipment development, especially high voltage switchgear

  • Proven expertise in CFD application for product development

  • Practical experience with FEA simulation tools and CAD

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in multicultural teams

  • Excellent English skills and willingness to learn German
