Global Operations Specialist Tap Changers

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will act as the global process specialist in Tap Changers, related to process, method and equipment in related units. 

2. You will develop and update documentations such as Production Standards, Quality Inspection Cards, User Manuals and Training & Certificate material related to the related processes employed in Tap Changer factories.

3. You will develop standard equipment requirements, linked with process performance and critical to quality characteristics.

4. You will deeply support factories in ToT (Transfer of Technology)  process, including development of new layouts and introduction of latest state-of art in production. On-site support of several weeks during production start-ups.

5. You will optimize / improve the manufacturing operations maximizing the asset utilization, at lowest cost, while making sure that the quality standards and customer requirements are met.

6. You will support digitalization and automation in the related production sites.

7. You will participate in global forums to share best practices.

8. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science.

2. You bring at least 5 years of experience from operations from a relevant industry.

3. You have background of working in the field of tap changers.

4. You have strong analytical and systemic problem-solving skills with clear passion to develop and change self and others.

5. You are fluent in English (written and spoken) combined with excellent communication skills.

6. You have already gained experience in international companies and working with different countries and cultures.
