Hitachi Energy receives conditional FCC approval for U.S. power conversion solutions

Features | 26.10.2026 | 1 min read

Hitachi Energy received conditional approval from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in October 2026 for the importation, sale and deployment of its inverter products in the United States. The approval supports continued deployment of its power conversion solutions (PCS) platforms for utility-scale energy storage, renewable energy, data centers, and critical power infrastructure projects.

We are grateful for the swift review and approval by the FCC and Department of War (DOW), and for the federal government’s continued support of our investment program to strengthen the company’s U.S. supply chain and manufacturing capabilities for critical grid equipment.

The approval follows the FCC’s July 2026 decision on foreign-produced power inverters. Since then, Hitachi Energy has worked with regulators, government representatives, industry groups, and advisors to address the requirements and support customers’ U.S. projects.

Energy storage helps integrate renewable energy, strengthen grid reliability, and meet growing electricity demand from data centers and other infrastructure.

Power conversion technology connects generation, storage, and electricity users. It converts and controls power flows to help energy systems operate reliably and efficiently.
