Hitachi ABB Power Grids vaccinates its employees and their families

For Hitachi ABB Power Grids, the well-being of employees is a priority. For this reason, they joined the vaccination campaign managed by ANDI (National Industrial Association) "Companies for vaccination", the first corporate vaccination program in the world. This initiative wants that the Colombian business sector take part in solidarity, to protect workers and their families, and strengthen the National Vaccination Plan by contributing to the public health of the country.

Hitachi ABB Power Grids is one of the 5,000 companies in the country that are part of this program, helping to reduce the number of infections.

"The vaccination campaign is a very good idea, because it contributes to the health of all direct and indirect collaborators, and not only helps to speed up vaccination in the young age ranges, it also includes family members," said Valentina Arbeláez, Production Engineer.

“Although there are thousands of conspiracy theories in the media and despite misinformation, we have to put common sense to this situation. We have seen cases of people who were not vaccinated and died, and people who are already vaccinated got infected and survived the disease. It's like thinking that when we took a vaccine for measles or influenza, they wanted to manipulate our DNA.” commented Lina Maria Arias, Logistics and Transportation Administrator

In order to continue moving forward to overcome the emergency due to COVID-19, Hitachi ABB Power Grids’ employees are working from home, with some exceptions on the factories.

The invitation is to continue to lead by example, contributing to accelerate the recovery from the pandemic and taking measures to protect ourselves and others, prioritizing the common good.
