Design engineer intern

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. How you’ll make an impact

1. You will assist senior design engineers in the development and modification of mechanical, electrical, or software components and systems, also conduct research and gather data to support design decisions and problem-solving.

2. You will create and update technical drawings, schematics, and 3D models using CAD software also perform basic engineering calculations and simulations under guidance.

3. You will participate in design reviews, providing input and documenting feedback also support the testing and validation of prototypes and production units.

4. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management also document design processes, specifications, and test results.

5. You will learn and apply company engineering standards, procedures, and best practices also complete special projects and assignments as required.

6. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You can be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

2. Prior internship experience or involvement in relevant extracurricular projects is a plus.

3. Proficiency or familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) is highly preferred.

4. Basic understanding of relevant programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, Java) for software-focused roles.

5. Strong academic record with a demonstrable understanding of fundamental engineering principles.

6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

7. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality with eagerness to learn new technologies and processes.

8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills also strong verbal and written communication skills.
