Function Controlling Lead Region LATAM

The Opportunity:

As CP&O FLE LATAM Region Controller, your mission is to ensure strong financial governance, transparency, and performance across Latin American operations, with a clear focus on corporate functions. You will lead a controlling organization of approximately 10+ professionals, driving IFRS‑compliant controlling activities, delivering clear and actionable financial insights, and enabling confident, data‑driven decision‑making for both regional and local leadership.

The role reports solid line to the Global Capability Owner for Functions & Legal Entity Controlling and dotted line to the Region Finance Director Latin America, ensuring strong alignment between global standards and regional business priorities.

Through strong people leadership and close collaboration with shared services, country and regional finance directors, and global controlling partners, you will foster financial discipline, continuous process improvement, and strategic value creation. By translating complex financial data into meaningful insights and proactively managing risks and opportunities, you will play a key role in supporting sustainable growth and operational excellence across the Latin American region.

How You ́ll Make an Impact:

  • Lead and oversee all corporate controlling activities for Latin America operations, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and internal company policies.

  • Manage, coach, and develop the Latin American controlling team, including training initiatives and effective capacity planning.

  • Review financial statements prepared by Finance Common Shared Services and deliver monthly management reporting to local and regional leadership, focusing on key performance indicators.

  • Monitor capital expenditure budgets versus actuals, perform variance analyses, and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Manage a wide range of stakeholders across functions, countries, and business units, leveraging strong communication and networking capabilities.

  • Actively live Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity by taking accountability for personal actions and fostering a culture of care for colleagues and the business.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Your background:

  • Experience: 8–10 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or Controlling, ideally within a multinational environment.

  • Education: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex financial, regulatory, and operational challenges with sound judgment.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for decision-making at all organizational levels.

  • Strong expertise in IFRS and current regulatory requirements, including a solid understanding of differences between local statutory accounting and IFRS reporting.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP FICO and strong proficiency in MS Office tools, including Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.

  • Proactive mindset with a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and meeting demanding deadlines.

  • Fluent in English & Spanish.
