Technical Tender & Procurement Engineer

As Technical Tender & Procurement Engineer, you play a key supporting role in the successful preparation and execution of complex electrical infrastructure projects. You contribute to supply chain and procurement activities primarily during the tender and early project execution phases, ensuring technical alignment between clients engineering requirements and supplier capabilities. 

 

You act as an important interface between tender engineering teams and the procurement/supply chain function, helping translate technical specifications into sourcing strategies and supplier packages. In this role, you support efficient, compliant procurement while contributing to strong supplier selection and competitive project bids in an international environment. 

 

This role suits a hands-on, technically-minded professional with an engineering background, strong analytical skills, and experience in procurement and commercial topics. You are comfortable working cross-functionally and eager to develop further within project supply chain or tender management. 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Support and coordinate procurement activities during the bid phase, working closely with sales & tender engineers to translate technical requirements into RFQs and supplier packages. 

  • Assist in preparing bid documentation, evaluating supplier offers, and contributing to negotiations from both a technical and commercial perspective. 

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, sales & tender teams, supply chain management, cost controlling, and legal) to ensure alignment between technical specifications and procurement approach. 

  • Contribute to drafting and managing RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier documentation in line with company standards and processes. 

  • Support supplier selection by performing technical and commercial comparisons and basic market analysis. 

  • Monitor supplier inputs during the tender phase and flag risks, inconsistencies, or optimization opportunities. 

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations throughout procurement activities. 

  • Lead negotiations process to ensure best price quality balance  

  • Establish long term partnership with suppliers 

  • Continuously support improvement of tender and procurement processes, tools, and collaboration across teams. 

 

Your Background 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related technical field . 

  • Approximately 3–7 years of experience in technical tendering, project engineering, or procurement within electrical infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects. 

  • Experience working with technical specifications, supplier documentation, or project bids is essential; direct procurement experience is advantageous but not mandatory. 

  • Fluent Dutch and strong English language skills (written and verbal). 

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to understand and connect technical and commercial requirements. 

  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and international project environments. 

  • Familiarity with procurement processes, contract basics, or supplier management is a plus.
