Hitachi Energy Vietnam is Green Enterprise of the Year

At the 24^th Golden Dragon Awards ceremony, Hitachi Energy Vietnam was felicitated as as Green Enterprise of the Year, among Top 10 Sustainable Development FIEs in Vietnam 2024-2025.

Launched in 2001, the Golden Dragon Awards (GDA) have become the largest annual event organized by Tap chi Kinh te Viet Nam / VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times in cooperation with ministries, sectors, localities, and relevant agencies, to recognize foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs) in Vietnam.

This year, the criteria for winners include outstanding achievements in business results, brand building, development and protection, corporate responsibility, green and sustainable business development, and application of digital transformation.

Operating in Vietnam since 1993, Hitachi Energy Vietnam and its two factories have reached remarkable milestone in business performance. The High Voltage factory’s revenue in 2024 increased 30% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, Transformers factory’s YoY revenue increased 52.7%. 

In our operations, we deliver across several projects and initiatives, including reducing emissions, consumption, waste, and pollution to the mutual benefit of our economic performance and the environment. Some highlights toward carbon-neutral own operations and Net-zero by 2050 in Vietnam includes: achieving 100% fossil-free electricity in our own operations; phasing-out SF6 gas in High Voltage Factory operation with Dry air testing, and is holds a record of no SF6 emission leakage recorded during the last 5 years; the newly inaugurated transformers factory in Bac Ninh received LEED Gold certification by adhering to prerequisites and credits that address carbon, also energy, water, waste, transportation, materials, health and indoor environmental quality.
