Hitachi Energy is delivering what is expected to become the largest energy management system (EMS) in the world, enabling end-to-end visibility and optimization across an extraordinarily complex network.
  2. Cloud-based grid control for renewable generation operators
    In another example, a U.S. independent power producer, Conduit Power, adopted a fully cloud-based control system, eliminating the need for a traditional physical control room. When severe storms hit Texas, operators were able to run the system remotely from their homes, keeping renewable generation online throughout the event. This represents a fundamental shift: the grid is no longer bound by geography, physical infrastructure, or legacy operational models.
  3. AI‑accelerated interconnection planning for a U.S. regional transmission operator 
    Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is partnering with Hitachi to deploy an AI‑based solution that helps significantly speed generator interconnection studies by up to 80%, enabling faster, higher‑quality decisions as the region works to integrate growing energy resources, including renewables. As regional electricity demand rises, driven by data centers, manufacturing, and electrification, the solution helps SPP address capacity shortages, improve grid reliability, and respond more effectively during emergencies.

These examples illustrate a broader movement, one in which co-creation with customers is shaping the future of energy innovation. Real-world deployments provide the proving ground where new ideas become reliable, scalable solutions.
