The opportunity 

We are seeking a dynamic and highly knowledgeable Category Manager to join our team, focusing on the sourcing, procurement, and management of Legal, HR, Finance-related services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of cost optimization, quality, delivery, and reliability within the Service category, while navigating the complex legislative environments of these regions.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Implement effective sourcing strategies using the CIPS process to ensure suppliers can meet current and future business needs.

  • Ensure all stakeholders understand and follow sourcing strategies, processes, and guidelines.

  • Minimize quality and financial risk by purchasing according to company procedures and Hitachi Energy standards.

  • Negotiate and renew contracts, price lists, terms, and conditions with key suppliers.

  • Adapt corporate contractual frameworks to local needs and recommend/execute frame agreements with proper risk management.

  • Identify, assess, and select suppliers based on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability in line with company policies.

  • Establish and maintain standard local agreements and contract terms following Hitachi Energy directives.

  • Develop and implement cost‑out initiatives and ensure SCM processes, standards, and compliance are applied consistently.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, HR, Business Administration, or related field; advanced education/certifications are a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience, including at least 3 years in Supply Chain for indirect categories (legal, consulting, marketing, HR, temp labor, financial services).

  • Strong collaboration skills across functions, business units, and countries.

  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship capabilities.

  • Solid project management and execution skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching or mentoring others.

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, Power BI, SAP Ariba, and fluency in spoken & written English.
