Scheduled to begin operations in 2027, the new facility will be dedicated to providing specialized services for equipment used in power transmission and distribution, as well as industrial applications and data centers. The center will bring together maintenance, upgrades, repair, modernization, critical spare parts supply, training, and specialized technical support for customers’ critical energy infrastructure equipment. These capabilities will be complemented by digitally enabled service solutions that help customers plan, predict, and prevent issues throughout the lifecycle.
The location was selected for its proximity to customers and key industrial and energy hubs across the country, helping enable faster response to customer needs and deliver lifecycle service at scale. The site is located within a long-established industrial complex that has supported Brazil’s power sector for decades and is strategically positioned to facilitate access for customers, employees, suppliers, and service teams. Its proximity to São Paulo’s road network and to Guarulhos International Airport further strengthens connectivity and supports efficient service delivery across the country.
“Brazil’s electrical infrastructure depends on assets that remain in operation for decades and play a fundamental role in system reliability. In this context, having local service and asset management capabilities is essential to ensure operational availability and respond quickly to customer needs. Being close to our customers allows us to act with greater agility, reduce operational risks, and support the reliability of the national power system,” says Fernanda Alves, Service Business Unit Manager for Latin America at Hitachi Energy.
In addition to technical services, the new Service Center will include a dedicated training and professional development facility through the Service Academy, Hitachi Energy’s initiative focused on developing technical expertise for power sector professionals. The facility will offer training programs covering best practices in asset maintenance, operation, and modernization, helping build the capabilities required to meet the evolving demands of a rapidly changing industry.
“Investing in services means investing in the reliability of existing electrical infrastructure. As energy demand continues to grow and power networks become increasingly complex, modernizing assets, extending their service life, and improving their performance becomes just as important as building new infrastructure,” Fernanda concludes.
The expansion of the Service business is part of Hitachi Energy’s broader investment plan in Brazil, totaling approximately R$ 1.8 billion, which also includes the modernization of the Guarulhos factory and the construction of the company’s new manufacturing facility in Pindamonhangaba, both located in the state of São Paulo.
