Meet Our People: Javier Nova

Meet Our People | 09.07.2025 | 2 min read

What keeps someone committed and proud to be part of the same company after 26 years?

After more than two decades at Hitachi Energy and its predecessor company, Javier Nova knows a thing or two about energy and the energy transition. He is currently the Segment Lead for Data Centers and E-Mobility in Mexico, but his career also includes experience in high-voltage products, transformers, and grid integration.

Born and raised in Mexico City—a place known for its constant movement and change—Javier is full of energy and always ready for the next challenge. One of the most significant was his time in Sweden, where he worked at the company’s main HUB. There, he learned to let go of his home, language, and culture to embrace the opportunity to grow, adapt, and develop alongside Hitachi.

Responsibility and discipline are two of Javier’s strongest qualities. Thanks to them, even after a long and successful career, he continues to learn and contribute to shaping the energy of tomorrow.

“I remember when I was studying Electrical and Mechanical Engineering back in the 90s, we talked about photovoltaic generation, renewable energy… things that sounded like science fiction at the time. But now, 26 years later, they’re a reality - that’s why I’m proud of where I work. Hitachi Energy is a leader in technology and in people management. This company allows you to grow both personally and professionally. That’s very important to me, and it’s why I’ve been here for so many years.”

From the beginning of his career, Javier knew he wanted to apply his knowledge to something meaningful for society and the development of countries.

“I don’t know if it was a coincidence or not, but two years ago I was entrusted with the data center and e-mobility segments, and it really motivated me because we’re moving toward trends that will help companies, countries, and people move forward—and I’m part of those initiatives.”

Today, as an Account Manager in the Marketing and Sales team, Javier faces the challenge of working with all four Business Units, which means learning about each one’s product portfolio, needs, and structure. To maintain strong performance, he’s also learned the importance of balancing work with personal life.

Two years ago, he took up running and physical activity as a way to recharge and spend quality time with his family. One of his favorite moments is supporting his son in basketball competitions, a sport they both enjoy.
