HV Technical Documentation Writer

The opportunity

Translation of complex technical knowledge into Engineering narratives and documentation that can be easily understood by different audiences within the BU of High Voltage Products

How you'll make an impact:

  • Assess audience needs and tailor tone, terminology, and content for clarity and understanding.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible documentation for multiple audiences.
  • Develop engineering process guides and technical documentation in compliance with industry standards.
  • Incorporate visual aids and graphics to enhance comprehension; proficiency in graphics editing software is a plus.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather and validate information.
  • Edit and proofread technical materials for clarity, accuracy, and readability.
  • Conduct technical and peer reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Review localized documentation and adapt it for global use.
  • Maintain version control and update documents as processes evolve.
  • Ensure proper terminology review and manage updates and revisions.
  • Utilize document management systems such as Extended Enterprise Content Management (xECM).
  • Liaise with Product Specific Technial writing Teams to share best practices and align output.
  • Attention to detail: documentation needs to be precise and accurate.
  • Ability to edit and proofread work prepared by colleagues
  •  Create precise and accurate engineering documentation, adapting content to ensure clarity, accessibility, and ease of understanding for the target audience.
  • Professional and structured management of the documentation with revision control

Your background:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, technical communication, engineering, information technology, or a related field
  • Proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading Engineering documentation in English
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office range of products
  • Knowledge and use of Professional Document Management/Requirements Management systems
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Years of experience: > 5 years in similar field
  • Fluency in English
