Event Policies - USA

I agree I am not a public official.

• Public official definition: Public officials (this definition also includes Government Officials) means all elected or appointed officials, candidates for political office, consultants with government positions, employees of government- or state-owned companies or controlled companies (more than 30% ownership or controllership), officials in political parties, or anyone acting on behalf of the government or public international organization (such as the United Nations, World Bank). For the purpose of this Hitachi Energy Regulation the term Public Official should be interpreted broadly.
  • All individuals employed by a government or partially government owned entity should be considered public officials regardless of rank or position or level of government whether federal state, municipality or other, including but not limited to the below:
    • Any person who provides services on behalf of national, state, provincial or local governments
    • Any person who provides services on behalf of an agency or organization affiliated with a government entity
    • Any person who provides services on behalf of a public enterprise or state-owned entity
    • Any person who is an employee or agent of an international public organization (for example, the United Nations, World Trade Organization or World Bank)
    • Any political party, party official, or candidate for political office
    • Any person authorized by a government entity to exercise a public function
    • Active or reserve members of police and armed forces
    • Educational and medical employees of state-owned entities, including professors and doctors
    • Journalists and representatives of state-controlled media
    • Members of ruling or royal families

I agree to the following:

• Video / Photo release: In consideration of Hitachi Energy including me in its Event. I hereby grant Hitachi Energy irrevocable permission to use stories, quotes, written content, photographs and/or video taken of me during this event in such manner and for such purposes in connection with its business as Hitachi Energy shall see fit, including (but not limited to) use in its internal channels, external publicity, public displays, social media, and exhibitions. I give Hitachi Energy, its licensees, and its assignees all rights to use my image and voice, and to publish, republish, or otherwise transmit the photographs and/or video in any medium anywhere in the world. I agree that the images or video footage may be altered or modified in any manner and acknowledge that by signing this form, I give up all claims of ownership, income, editorial control, and use of the photographs and videos, and assign all rights of ownership to Hitachi Energy. I further agree that the images may be used to represent an imaginary person and that any wording associated will not be attributed to me personally unless my name is used. I agree that I shall not be entitled to any additional payment for the use of my image or voice pursuant to this agreement, and I undertake not to instigate proceedings, claims, or demands against Hitachi Energy, its licensees, or its assignees in respect of their usage of the photographs and/or video. We will retain and manage images and recordings in line with GDPR and other relevant data privacy legislation. I confirm that I am over the age of 18 years and that I have read, understood, and agree to the above.
• Gift & Entertainment / Code of Conduct Policies: All registrants agree that attending this event is in compliance with his/her company/organization's gift and entertainment policy. Additionally, registrants and attendees must adhere to and agree to abide by Hitachi Energy's Code of Conduct.
• Covid Information: Due to the uncertainty related to the novel coronavirus SARS-COV-2 (together with any variation thereof, “COVID-19”) pandemic, attendee acknowledges that their ticket and admission to the event is subject to all government, venue and Hitachi Energy safety and health policies. Attendee acknowledges that due to the evolving nature of the pandemic, Hitachi Energy may continue to develop and update these policies in the intervening time between attendee's registration and the date of the meeting. By registering for and/or attending or participating in any of the sessions, attendee acknowledges and agrees that they will (1) comply with such policies and regularly check for any updates to such policies; and (2) that attendance at the Event is conditioned on such compliance.
• In exchange for my attendance at and participation in Hitachi Energy USA Inc.’s event I agree to release, waive, and forever discharge Hitachi Energy USA Inc. from any and all claims, losses, injuries, and causes of action I may have, had, or will have in the future arising from my attendance and participation in the event. This waiver and release applies to Hitachi Energy USA Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, agents, parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates.
