Global Operation Expert - Bushings

The opportunity
Hitachi Energy is looking for a Global Process Expert – Bushings to join our global innovative and forward-thinking team. In this dynamic role, you will act as the global subject matter expert for bushing manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment across the entire Transformer Components business. You will drive sustainable and transformational change across multiple bushing units, focusing on safety, quality, and process improvement through automation and digitalization. This role has a global scope, and is flexible on location, to be based in proximity to one of our Transformer Bushings unit locations.

How you will make an impact
• Act as the global process expert in Bushing manufacturing related to process, methods and equipment in the entire Transformer Components business and product scope.
• Drive standardization of process and equipment in own manufacturing area.
• Optimize / improve the manufacturing operations maximizing the asset utilization, at lowest cost, while making sure that the quality standards and customer requirements are met
• Develop standard equipment requirements, linked with process performance and critical to quality characteristics, as well as taking Sustainability as a key goal.
• Partner with global suppliers and internal stakeholders to define standard equipment requirements and ensure alignment with critical-to-quality characteristics
• Provide expert guidance on equipment selection, upgrades, relocations, and process optimization
• Develop and maintain documentations such as Production Standards, Quality Inspection Cards, User Manuals and Training & Certificate material
• Lead or support insulation-related investment projects and technology transfers to enhance manufacturing capabilities

Your background
• Degree or equivalent in Engineering, science or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in operations or manufacturing within a relevant industry.
• Strong background in bushing or related processes, with proven expertise in process improvement and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change and overcome resistance in transitioning from manual to automated processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for driving innovation and efficiency.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with experience working in multicultural environments.
• Willingness to travel internationally to support global projects and training initiatives.
