The opportunity

The SCM Manager, PGSV will deliver the BU PGSV (Grid Connections) to the Local Service Business Unit. The SCM Manager will be responsible for end to end supply chain management and shall coordinate the Sourcing, negotiating, contracting and establishment of service partners to ensure a one Hitachi Energy Service approach to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OEMs, especially Substation Equipments, Transformers, High Voltage Equipment and Relays and Automation products and systems, ideally within the Electrical installations/Energy sector with a strong HSE, Quality and Integrity know-how. Knowledge of Hitachi Energy products is an added advantage.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Develop and lead a competent, technically strong Service SCM team to support PGSV operations.

  • Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers for installation, retrofit, upgrades, testing, commissioning, and digital services across Hitachi Energy products.

  • Establish and manage Inter–Hitachi Energy company agreements for service contracting and spare parts procurement.

  • Enable seamless extension of BU vendor agreements (PGTR, PGHV, PGGA) to PGSV through novation, renegotiation, or extensions.

  • Define and implement global Service SCM strategy aligned with Service GPG objectives and targets.

  • Support lifecycle services, service products, solutions, and Installed Base (IB) penetration goals.

  • Lead SCM delivery to achieve and exceed targets on order intake, gross margin, response time, and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide accurate costing and commercial support to Service Sales.

  • Participate in negotiations for major service contracts to secure order volume and profitability.

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies focused on cost optimization, quality, delivery reliability, and sustainability.

  • Negotiate contracts and SLAs to meet price, lead time, and commercial terms; ensure correct usage in ERP systems.

  • Drive cost reduction, risk mitigation, and total cost of ownership improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with SCM, quality, and commercial procedures to minimize financial and quality risks.

  • Manage supplier selection, performance, contracts, and standard agreements in line with company policies.

  • Apply SCM standards, tools, and processes to ensure business continuity.

  • Contribute to budgeting and ensure achievement of category-level sourcing and performance targets.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant degree with 5+ years of experience.  

  • Significant and demonstratable experience in SCM & Operations, preferably within Hitachi Energy.

  • Strong Collaborative skills and Non Silo working.

  • Proven understanding of Hitachi Energy systems and products

  • Experience working within the Energy sector

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
