Project Lead Engineer

The opportunity:

Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business unit has delivered more than 4,000 projects over the last 15 years. Our Grid Integration portfolio spans a wide range of transmission and substation applications, which facilitate reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimum environmental impact. We incorporate the integrated systems, solutions and services of our business' DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Grid and Power Quality solutions such as offshore wind connections, and Semiconductors. We offer Power Consulting for key segments in the energy system, such as renewables, transmission distribution and as well as e-transportation solutions. Based in Singapore, the Project Lead Engineer serves as the technical heartbeat of the project lifecycle. You will lead the engineering strategy for critical infrastructure projects, including GIS substations, BESS, and E-Mobility. This role demands a balance of deep technical expertise and cross-functional leadership, as you will be responsible for the integrity of all technical deliverables while managing key relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams like Project Management and Supply Chain.

How you’ll make an impact:

• You will be responsible for the complete technical deliverables inline with the project schedule complying with company quality standards and process. .

• You will drive completion of all engineering activities on the project, collaborating with other teams i.e. Project Management, Supply Chain , HSE etc.

• You will lead the technical discussions with customer and suppliers.  

• You will provide technical support for installation, testing and commissioning activities.

• You will provide  cost effective quality solutions and delivering within budget and contract.

• You will  support tendering team by ensuring the technical offering to customer compliance with the contractual requirement, value add by optimizing the technical solution

• You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering

• Minimum 6 years of  direct working experience in the electrical engineering field especially in high voltage switchgear engineering, Power Transformer, LV Switchgear, protection relay

• Experience in handling Cable, Cable tray, and earthing package.

• Familiar with IEC , IEEE standards associated with the above listed equipments/ packages

• Ability to review system study documents eg. Load flow, short circuit documents.

• Proficiency English communication verbal and written.
