Global Engineering Manager Electrical design and AC Protection and Control

The opportunity

 

The HVDC market for large scale (Giga Watt) projects, both offshore wind and onshore, is booming. HVDC technology is a key enabler for the energy transition. The new technology interfaces to existing grids and also to novel renewable energy sources. The HVDC Department for Automation & Communication employs engineers who possess long experience in the fields of Electrical Desing, AC Protection & Control, SCADA & HMI and Auxilliary Automation executing on IT/OT/CS & Telecom infrastructure. In this recruitment, the open position is for a Global Engineering Office Manager in that Department

As the Global Engineering Manager Electrical Design and AC Protection & Control, you will lead an Office of expert engineers. The engineers will participate in tenders and execution projects where they define, procure and monitor delivery of Substation Automation (SA) and Protection &Control systems for AC substations (AC P&C) as parts of HVDC systems’ deliveries. 

Your Office’s scope of responsibility is an integral part of the overall Automation system within the complete HVDC project delivery, posing high demands on you and your team’s ability to collaborate and interface with many colleagues across our organization.  As Global Engineering Office Manager you will monitor engineering progress and staff needs in all ongoing Tenders and Projects.

Your background

  • You have at least 5 years or more of management experience leading technical teams
  • You have a solid technical background in electrical design of Substation Automation and Protection & Control systems
  • You have good knowledge of designing according to the relevant grid codes and from validating designs using grid network studies
  • You have practical experience of design as well as documented field and commissioning experience.
  • You have lead organizations working extensively with sub-suppliers and partners for deliveries
  • As a person you are goal-oriented and with a leadership style that allows your teams to perform independently
  • You are a good communicator and strong in building internal and external relationships
  • You have an Electrical Engineering degree at M.Sc. or corresponding level
