Early 2025, Hitachi Energy Vietnam launched the Digital Dreams: Laptop for Learning program, in which the company will donate revived/restored laptops to underprivileged children. These laptops, though retired from corporate use, remain in good condition and are fully capable of supporting students in their learning and research activities.

This initiative not only helps reduce electronic waste but also reflects Hitachi Energy’s commitment to promoting sustainable education and equal access to technology for future generations.

In collaboration with the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), Hitachi Energy Vietnam donated 80 laptops to SOS Children’s Villages in Dien Bien Phu, Thanh Hoa, and Vinh. On May 30, 2025, company representatives visited the SOS Children’s Village in Vinh to host the handover ceremony and gain firsthand insight into the challenges these children face due to limited access to learning equipment.

During the event, Mr. Le Ba Luong – Director of SOS Children’s Village Vinh – shared heartfelt stories about the children, many of whom have lost parental care. He emphasized the meaningful impact of the laptop donation, describing it as a timely and practical initiative in the era of rapid digital transformation, empowering the children to learn with confidence and pursue a brighter future.
