Regional Transport Risk Engineer

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Regional Transport Risk Engineer for the Business Unit Transformers to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will ensure safe and compliant transport execution of heavy lift shipments by reviewing logistics service providers' method statements, addressing and resolving inadequacies before dispatch, and ensuring operational compliance during delivery. You will support the heavy lift logistics sourcing team by reviewing and providing feedback on technical concepts during the request for information phase. How you will make an impact

  • Review logistics service providers' method statements, addressing and resolving inadequacies before dispatch.

  • Ensure operational compliance during delivery through desktop assessments of loading, lashings, and certificates.

  • Address inadequacies and ensure corrective actions are implemented to maintain compliance.

  • Train logistics service providers and internal stakeholders on risk control notification process requirements.

  • Support the Heavy Lift logistics sourcing team by reviewing and providing feedback on technical concepts during the Request for Information phase.

  • Evaluate logistics service providers' performance in Risk Control Notification process compliance.

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards throughout the transportation process.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and logistics providers to optimize heavy lift logistics operations.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Your background

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related field.

  • Advanced knowledge of transportation methods and logistics best practices for heavy lift shipments.

  • Strong communication, influencing, and collaboration skills for effectively managing diverse internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to transform data into actionable insights, identify critical issues, and challenge assumptions effectively.

  • Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment.
